power cap
trying to set a good system up i have pioneer avic x1 and two rockford fosgate 12" subs with rockford 1000 watt amp. would you recommend fitting a power cap if so what size cap ( and how do you wire it up ) i want to fit it all my self but only got basic knowledge any help would be of grate use

1 Farad.
You'll probably need a 1 Farad capacitor. They're big ****'s!!!
You need to strap it across the +12v/0v (near your amp IIRC), very simple. It'll basically suck out all the electrical noise which is generated when switching 1kW of audio !!
It's been a while since I've been into my audio, but I think you can get one for about 60quid.

No worries.
Now that I'm awake, I've remembered the real benefit of a massive cap. It's not a smoothing cap it's there to provide massive instantaneous currents you'll need for your B-lines !! Which should help give them a bit more clarity.
Also, I think they'll be a little more than 60quid, as a lot of them are specifically aimed at car audio these days. See how you get on.
