running a jl sub help.....
hi all, i have a jl 12w3v2d2 sub, (dual voice coil). what sort of amp would be best to run it on real world terms.
also how would it be best to wire it up?. cheers.

You could either wire the 2 coils in Parallel (1 Ohm) or Series (4 Ohm)
You can get some amps that are 1 ohm stable but the do draw a fair amount of current and can run quite hot. Personally I would run it in series and then most amps would run it quite happily and so your choice comes down to budget!
I'm running a pair of W3s from a JL 500/1 which is a fantastic amp but probably a bit much for what you're after, but JL do make some smaller amps which could be a good starting point to compare.
