Radio displays Call! and starts ringing
I am probably going to sound daft here , but what the F**K.
Sat in my WRX in traffic last weekend , Outside the pub where daftlad works . And I get a message on the RDS display on the radio .
The message reads
CALL
The radio signal is interuppted and the thing starts ringing like a phone ?
Anyone experienced this ?
Do i need to call the white van ?

There's a wire on the back of the unit - I think it's brown - that when connected to earth will show "CALL". Don't know about the righting sound.
Whip the unit out and check that the brown lead isn't flapping around. If the car wasn't new, someone might have something like a bluetooth car kit fitted, so see if anything's attached to that lead...

Yes, if they've had the radio out which they will have done to pick up power...
I *think* that the cable loops back on itself into a block loosely to keep the end from grounding - if someone's been around there, it would be very easy to dislodge it.
There's instructions in the FAQ for removing the front fascia around the radio. Should take half an hour tops to work out what's wrong. Good luck

Bit weird! The standard HU (Kenwood) certainly has a mute control (as described above) but it doesn't make the HU 'ring'.
It's also well fastened to the back of the HU and would take a bit for it to ground accidentally.
Let us know what you find!
