Alpine CDE-9850ri Ipod problems...
Hi guys, I've just fitted the 9850ri to the car. The stereo itself is fantastic, but it won't play most of the tracks on my 40GB Ipod. On the tracks that it won't play, it scrolls through the rest of them, as though its trying to find one to play. There doesn't seem to be any particular reason - on one album the first track played, then it just started scrolling through the other tracks.
Some albums play through fine.
Can the ipod handle 320kb MP3s? All tracks are MP3s BTW
Anyone got any ideas? The manual is no good either.
It's driving me nuts!!

Cheers thats interesting - but why would one track on a fully ripped album be missing a partial tag? When it scrolls through the the rest it just diplays 'Track 01', 'Track 02' etc.
I've emailed Alpine...

Yep, pretty sure.
All the Mp3s that wouldn't play at 320kbps, now play at 192kbps...
It's not that big a deal really, there's a piece of software called musicformat converter which handles it all...

i emailed Alpine technical support as well and this is what they said:
Hi, when using the i-pod it will play whatever the i-pod can play, Even
burning mp3's to a cd can play all MP3's and WMA's, i always use high
bitrate with no problems...
Ross Gardiner .... Technical Support Engineer
Direct line ....0870 3333 827
so i'm a bit confused now lol, what did they say when you emailed them?
