Default KEN-DDX6027 OR ALPINE W200

As above, wanting to replace the head unit with one of the above and wondered if any of you guys have fitted either of them?

is it easy to fit, with the extra kenwood/subaru conecter? and what is the pic quality like with the touch screen?

I should hope that they're all easy to fit as it's a standard DIN mounting. The electrical connections are taken care of with an ISO converter which used to be a PC2-44-4 or something like that... Under 15 quid from any ICE retailer.

Try them both before you buy would seriously be my advice. Ergonomics are so important in car that you need to know you can use the features something has before shelling out.

Dead easy to fit as said above. Picture quality is good I would say although it was perhaps an area where I was a bit disappointed as thought it would be a bit more vibrant and bright than it is..
The touch screen works well but I think they missed a real opportunity with it in terms of presentation, you get a few very crappy backgrounds and it just doesn't look very sexeh for the money it costs.
Wouldn't have taken a lot I would have thought to offer a few themes or spent a bit longer on the UI design.

In process of getting the sat nav / TMC addon for mine and a roof mounted screen for the kids..

KNA-G520 - ebay/new - £559

Roof Screen
LZH-70WTR - ebay/new - £199 I think

Subwoofer
KSCWA82RC - off here/used - £45 (needs a £40 connector though)

Kenwood: GTM-10 - TMC Control Unit - googled/new - £110

Plus a days fitting - £330

Amp wiring kit £30

£1300 all together 'ish ?
