What MD headunit shall I get? Budget is around £150-£250. Don't mention Sony.....to tinny.

Kenwood KMD-PS971R, or the 970. Sound quality is excellent, usability is great with the remote control, useful features such as high pass filters on front/rear outputs and low pass filter on non-fading pre-out. (3 pre-outs too).

I've had the 970 and 971. They're both excellent and sonically identical.

 

What about Pioneer?

I'm not adding an amp, so the Head unit should run the speakers.

Jay, never used 'em. There was a group test around a year ago in In-car magazine - perhaps there's a back copy of that floating around?
