MB Quart

I;m considering upgrading the front speakers in my my01 to some decent components. I think the standard head unit will stay, evan though there's a Kenwood mask 9070R sat in my cupboard. I have read current topics on Infinity's, which have had rave reviews. Has any one had any experience with MB Quart speakers. Any coments would be welcome. Have also considered the Kenwood KFC-PSR70P dual mags package, thoughts please.

I would rate the MBs as generally a good brand, better on the whole than the infinitys as they're a bit less bright.
Do change the head unit, otherwise you're starting with a crap signal. "You can't polish a turd" as the saying goes...

Ive got some MB Quarts - components 6.5 inch. You'll need a corsa spacer and they fit in easily!!!
Sound great. Punchy Base, not to bright sound and good seperation. Cant recommend them enough. I bought mine as part of a sale on old stock (previous years model) - so got £250 for £150 !!!!!!
I dont think you can go wrong with any of the "good" brands (inc Boston, infinity etc).... tends to be personal choice. A good ICE shop should set you up a demo. Really helps as you'll find some are better suited to different kinds of music!!!

They Infinitys are better than the Kenwood I feel. MB Quart sound VERY good from the few I have heard. Some can be stunning value.
The Infinity 605CS are probably the best under £150 to my ears anyway.
Unless you are going to amp your speakers I wouldn't spend more than £100 on front components, and even though I did I didn't if you know what I mean.
Edited to say like Chiark if you are using the std hu you may as well put turds in the doors....
But like everything depends on how far you want to take it - cars never sound as good as houses, so beyond £6-700 on an ICE setup I lose interest. Only a personal view and I love hearing expensive setups, just rather spend my cash elsewhere.
