Tomtom vs Garmin?

Tomtom vs Garmin?
OK, I've decided to get a sat nav, I want a simple, easy to use unit. I've narrowed it down to two, Tomtom one europe and Garmin nuvi 250.
Any ideas? Experinces? Advice?
Thanks!

I've used Garmin before (2610) and I now have the TomTom one Europe which I pesonally find a lot better. Easier to use, nicer to look at cheaper than a Garmin. Plus the added bonus of speed camera warning.

I`ve used both units you`ve mentioned and there`s not much difference between them, both straight forward and easy to use. Get yourself down to Halfords and have a play with them both and see what you think for yourself, that`s what I did and bought a Nuvi 250

Hi fella
I have had a few Tomtoms units for various reasons (robbing gits).
Anyway i have just "doctored" a unit for a pal who bought a navigo for about £58.00.
I found a few tuts on how to put tomtom on it with all the voices and full postcode search.
Works a treat.

Had two Nuvi's and well pleased, was told that they last longer/better too, only got second one for Usa and Canada, cheaper to buy new at the time,my dads got my old one. Used works Tom tom and didn't like, but probably cos I'm used to Garmin.
Great for handsfree too

i got a Garmin for the simple reason that they are the worlds best military sat nav suppliers and as such, have to know what they are talking about with the latest sat nav technology etc........
