96' Legacy Estate - Head Unit
Hi all
I have a 1996 Subaru Legacy Estate. Its a 2.2 Auto, GX model.
The Tape deck head unit is obviously a bit dated now... I've pulled it out and there are two connections at the back that are i think screwed into plate.
My question is what do i have to do to get a normal head unit in there? Obviously after market units wont just slide in.
Thanks all.

you take out the trim and cup holders, remove the stereo with the metal brackets attached to the side.
On all headunits there is screw holes on the side to screw your new headunit to the original brackets and refit.
you just need a single din pocket to fill the gap

mmmmm....
Not sure you get what i mean.... The current head unit seems to have a special fitment with regard to the wires that plug in the back of the head unit. There are two small connections that are fixed to the back wall of the single din space. As you put the head unit in, the connection is made. Do they simply unscrew and fit into a normal unit?
