Default speakers my03 sti

I wouldlike to upgrade the crap speakers in my car.

Before I remove the door cards, I would like to get replacement speakers.

Can any peeps tell me what size they are, I think there are 6 in all 2 tweeters 2 fronts and 2 rears.

Any recomendations in make would be gratefull also..

Many thanks in advance, I have done a search, but could not find anything definative.

5 1/4" in the front but 6 1/2" will fit with 12mm MDF spacers.

4" in the back doors.

Although you can change the rear speakers, many do not bother, due to the size being so small, a change of Brand will do very little.. So its best to add that money to the fronts, and get the best pair you can possibly afford, and fade the rear out or down.

This is the advice I have not only read on here, but also from my local Car Audio shop. Have my install all fitted tomorrow, front comp speakers(6 1/2"), sub and amp, plus head unit (double din).

That's good advice, I did the rears and it made no difference, in fact I have them faded out 90% of the time.

Agreed +2 , much better off not replacing the rears and investing the extra money in getting a better pair of fronts.

When I got mine approx 18 months ago i was advised on here to get Infinitys 6510CS, I've just whipped them out of MY07 as its about to get traded in, if you want the spacers send me a private message.
