How do I stop sub flying around my boot?
This is what my boot looks like...
If I take a right hander to fast the sub goes flying across my boot. I have velcro'd the carpet to the floor and the sub to the carpet but we all know the G forces a scoob can create.
Anyone got any ideas?
I did consider placing a bit of wood between the left hand side and the sub to wedge it in but the sub has a pheonix gold amp screwed to back of it and it needs a wee bit of space to keep cool. I also don't want to mess the boot up cause it looks tidy as it is.
Any advice appreciated
Cheers,
Doug

or mount some rings in the floor plate and fix some straps over the top of the sub to the rings. probably the simplest solution, but i expect the best would be to build a custom enclosure

You should just be able to make out the top brackets on mine, they are screwed to the under neath of the the boot roof, so screwing into metal. This was done for 2 reasons, 1 to stop it moving about whilst driving, and 2 it can be took out when I need the full boot.

I removed the carpet, made a template out of very thin hardboard and then spray glued the carpet to it and put it back in the boot. Then velcro'd the sub box to that. No movement now, although for total security, as mentioned the best approach is to strap it down. Does mean drilling holes though....

Thanks for all the advice guys. I reckon I'm going to go with DarrenSTI's idea and make a top bracket. I want the option to take the sub out quickly as I have quick release connections too so I'll use a butterfly nut which doesn't need any tools.

think i saw one a while ago, a box built into the rear passenger footwell behind the front seat with carpet over the top to match the rest of the floor.
other option is active sub(s) under front seat(s), which plenty of people on here have fitted

ps - if you're considering rehousing the sub or changing altogether, view my scooby. i built a fibreglass (correctly sized) enclosure for an infinity perfect 10. sits nicely where a stealthboxz would, but for a lot less money
