Default speaker upgrade question need help/advice

hi guys, i have a 2004 impreza wrx as im sure you know the onlt thing that lets it down is the stereo/speakers does anyone have any ideas how i can upgrade the sound?? i dont really want to spend too much as just buying the car has left me short! i was thinking first off replacing the front speakers so does anyone know of a replacement that will fit straight in? i know how to take the door pannels off etc but dont want to start making mdf spacers etc. will this on its own make a difference?? im thinking at a later date of relacing the head unit and maybe fitting a amp/sub but as i said it will be at a later date unless someone has some kit for sale cheap?? any advice/info/help much appreciated. many thanks in advance

get yourself some sound damping stuff, some Corsa speaker adapters and a set of reasonable speakers (components)... You'll see a big improvement

Even a good set of coaxials will suffice if you are only going to run them from the head unit and not an external amp.
Totally agree with the sound damping

You may find that simply replacing the head unit will improve matters.

The difference in sound quality in some cases is unbelievable just because the output from factory head units can be terrible. That said, when I replaced mine I didn't notice a massive improvement - some but not a lot.

Sadly because the Scoob doesn't run speakers in the parcel shelf you're limited to somewhat smaller speakers, so get yourself a decent set in the doors with some adapters - loads on the market - I used to go for Pioneer or Alpine, and then get yourself a nice sub in the boot for some bass if the speakers aren't up to the task

Dear God - what a chav I am lol.
