Default Rear footwell sub advice for novice

Advice greatly appreciated as I am quite a novice in this department!!

Iv got a gAlpine CDM 7892R headunit & fitted Infinity Kappa 62.7i front spkrs (225w max) running off headunit only. Some sound deading in front doors and thats it.

Iv got a JBL GTO, quite a big amp lying around & a smaller sound lab one too. I dont want a boot install & want a small, removable sub & amp system & power the Kappas with amp too. I have seen a couple of scoobys on here with a 10" sub installed on rear passesger footwell, with amp under seat.

I will need a shallow enclosure for it & have amp sitting on piece of MDF under seat that can be slid out along with enclosure whenever needed. (for occasional trackdays & to keep car in the spirit of Spec c!! )
But not sure on what type of speaker would work with such a small enclosure. Which speaker is not too tall & can produce good, in car bass, sitting in a small enclosure? Any help much appreciated

Heres a guide to the ICE upgrade in my Spec C

Here is a quick guide to what i did in my Blobeye. Now you obviously wont install the exact same setup as me but mine does have sensational sound quality and balance with massive midrange and bass

Firstly i removed the standard things they call speakers

Then i fully dynamatted the doors and made up 18mm thick MDF spacers

then i fitted a set of Focal 165K2P component speakers

Then came the build for the subwoofers which comprised of a fibreglass enclosure built into a false floor behind the passenger front seat, dynamatted floor. The subs are JL8w3 and everything is powered by a JL 300/4 amplifier

covered

and the system was finished off with a Kenwood DDX7029 headunit

Nice I originally saw ur post, which gave me the idea.
Do 2 X 8 " woofers work out better than 1 or 2 X 10" Subs?

Also will get a friend who is an auto electrician to wire it all up @ friends rates!
All I need to do get hold of the sub/wiring/etc & build the box. (never done it before ) Also is there some kind of bracket I can fit in the boot, to which I can attach the amp to & can quickly detach the amp from with a couple of nut or clips etc?
So just really need advice on what bits to buy & how to build a box, & even with that I can get the help of my mate who is a carpenter (but knows nothing on building enclosures for subs!!)

Iv just worked out the cubic feet availiable for sub & its approx 0.65 cubic feet, which means it will have to be just one 8" sub

Interesting DO like the Kicker Solobaric

Much better clarity, a bit louder, but still quite average setup, especially as I have no rear speakers. (2 speakers only). But I think once they are amplified properly by my JBL amp & a small sub added, the overall sound should be much improved. IMO these Kappa speakers do need to be amplified.

But overall the speakers are very good quality & come with seperate crossovers. You will need to buy those Corsa 6" spacers/adaptors to fit without any hassle

Or alternativelt make some MDF ones as Scooby-TC has done. It is fairly straight forward to do.
