Default headunit advice

I would like to upgrade the head unit in my 03WRX, I would like bluetooth phone operation, proper ipod control and ability to play mp3's off a usb drive, I can find loads of single din players that do this, but really wanted to stay with double din to keep dash looking complete, Only double dins I can find have dvd screens and/or satnav, so price is high, anyone know of any good looking double din players that can do what I want and not be to flash so that I feel afraid to leave it in the car, I really don't want to watch films in the car, and have my tomtom for navigation so would be a waste to fit one of those. Any advice or even pictures of installations welcomed.

Thanks

I think Pioneer do something like this, P80BT or something? It's double din and about £280 IIRC.

If you go single din you will have far more and cheaper options, with a silver Forester pocket it looks good too.

this one here appears to have all the features I want, just a little unsure of the forrester pocket, it looks a bit out of place to me, but then again I haven't seen one installed.

You're 2 weeks too late - I have just sold my Kenwood.....

The attached Kenwood is a very good stereo - plays MP3 CD's and is bluetooth and ipod compatible (additional add-ons required of course).

See link which I believe is the cheapest supplier and a very reliable one (I have bought a fair bit of kit from them).

I just bought an Alpine CDE9880R, has all the features you're after with ipod lead and bluetooth adapter. works great, really pleased and good value if you shop around. see my pics for one of the forrester pockets installed

This pioneer (as mentioned above) looks like it does all you want. Price is £224

Car Audio Direct - Pioneer FH-P80BT - Double DIN

or this JVC at £129 with the optional BT adaptor £89

Car Audio Direct - JVC KW-XG701 - Double DIN

Car Audio Direct - JVC KS-BTA200 - Bluetooth

Word of warning - superb as Alpine stereos are, the 300BT bluetooth unit doesn't work well with ipods. They are bringing out a replacement soon.

In the meantime, for what you are after I would go for a Pioneer single din with built in bt - caraudiosecurity are ok, Car Audio Direct for car stereo, navigation and audiovisual electronics. is even better.
