Has anyone got or seen a BEAT600 head unit, it's a 7" touchscreen DVD player that seems to sit between the cheapo (Hong Kong) units on e-bay and the Kenwood/Pioneer units. I'm not sure I can stretch to cost of a Kenwood unit and was wondering if these are any good? Also if they fit ok in a an Impreza.

 

Without seeing the unit ..one of the problems with the DVD units that the screen has to move outwards to insert the CD/DVD and this can touch the gear lever when in 1.3.5 gear which is not ideal when your on the move

Better to wait a bit longer and buy a proper brand such as kenwood, the other stuff will be junk!

 

Just ordered a Kenwood DDX5022 Found it for around £360 from CarAudio Security.com via Amazon.co.uk, that includes P&P. Just waiting for the courier now

I found the measurements for the BEAT600 and the screen was too big for the opening in the dash anyway, the same goes for the cheap eBay unit I got from HongKong, so that's back on ebay!

It really shows that your better off all round sticking to known brands like Kenwood and Alpine etc! Plus with the Kenwood you can get firmware updates from their website!
