Default Rear View Camera

Got a new Headunit inbound with a video in for a rear view camera.

Has anyone tried one or can recommend one? Several wide angled ones on ebay etc but no idea what to go for and whether its worth getting a night vision one - proper military lol!

Seems CCD is the best quality but expensive, the CMOS ones being cheaper, does it really matter for a rear view?

Cheers

Not sure either, just fitted a JVC which also has a video in for rear camera and was tempted as rear view in the noble aint up to much.

Mines a Focus ST but I still don't know where the flipping back is - miss the parking sensors on my old Z4 lol

Camera's on ebay for 20-30 quid for CMOS, but more like 90 for CCD, problems is getting it mounted too, seen ones that go on the no plate but they are CCD so ££££

That would be perfect - any details, tips or pics on how you mounted it?

I kinda lucked out....

On my 03 STI there are big gaps behind the rear number plate and one of these gaps happened to be exactly behind the thick text of my number plate lettering.... I just drilled a hole through the plate and 'ba-bam'.... job done....

I'm sure I've got pics on here somewhere....

I was going to ask about them on here, as I want to go for one. Not sure if anyones used one of his brackets on a classic though.

bought mine off ebay about 4yrs ago for 99p + delivery. less than £5 i think in all. led's don;t work so no good for night (may just be that i connected it wrong) but other than that, i can't fault it. HU was cheap too, and you do get what you paid for - this was a bit of an experiment when i did it. would go a little further with the quality on my next car
