So it cost an arm and a leg new and simply sounds awsome! well did!

it would have sold for near £150 if it were working, and to fix near £80 from Alpine...! but did not want to take the chance and send to Alpine only to find it possibly costs more..so rather then finding out the hard way i thought id get a replacement to put in the car before she sells...

I was thinking Alpine 9855r....?

Anyone got any other idea's, willing to spend say £100 on a head unit..what else could i get?

spend the 100 on the 7988r. They are an astonishing head unit. I wish I had one.

Put any old rubbish in if your selling the car. The next owner would probably change it anyway.

fix the Alpine, iirc they had a fixed price for repairing Head units (they did when I work at an Ice retailer)

like has been said, you will not get a better sounding head unit for anywhere near £100 , repair you will not be sorry...

So how did you break it?

 

It would not auto open and close...so i ended up opening it to try to fix it..now just dont have the time to close it...

so just bought a replacement from eBay...

 

what have you done with the old Alpine unit....?

 

kinda in pieces...gna pop it up for sale as spares i guess

 

what you want for it?
