Hi, I've got a MY99 Impreza and recently changed my OEM (naff) Phillips head unit for a new head unit.

I have one of those aerials that is above the driver window and you pull it out by hand.

The only trouble is, my radio reception is quite poor. I heard that the power aerial cable needs to be connected to another but it did not make any difference at all. The one that comes out of the head unit is blue but I'm unsure what to connect it to in the car's wiring.

I tried the yellow/green connector as stated on the following guide but no luck:
