Biggest Door Speakers - Bugeye
Guys,
Looking to upgrade speakers front & back and would like to know what the biggest size I can get away with, without too much hassle?
Also if anyone has pics of installs that would be great
Cheers

You will need a spacer, biggest you can get away with is 3/4 of inch with a layer of dynamat in place. Depth wise I will measure as I'm in the middle of installing some speakers at the moment which are a tight fit.
Things that will gain a few mill here and there,
1. Positioning the speaker correctly watching out for window, there is a
piece of white plastic to avoid with the rear of the speaker.
2. Remove any pieces of plastic from the back of the door card that will
interfere with speaker movement.
3. You can also Tilt the speaker upwards a little gain space behind the card
also.
4. Place a piece of rolled up blue tac or clay around the top of the speaker
before refitting the door card so you can see where the door card is
snagging. In doing so you can then place a screw in the spacer to raise
the door card away from the speaker.

77mm is the deepest you will fit behind the standard door cars lined with dynamat and using 18mm MDF spacers as i have done this on my own car using Focal 165K2P components.
Tight fit but well worth it
