Default Sound deadening advice

Looking for a little help on this one guys. I'm just about to do my install- nothing mager just a sub and some components. I've ordered this http://www.myspace.com/144548436/photos/599882 fm from the USA to keep it neat and tidy its an amp rack and sub box and its the best I've seen - not cheap at about 600 dolers but worth it I think.

I've been looking at doing some sound deadening and it's really confused me ! There seams to be confusion on items like dynamat - the audio guys say that it isn't actually sound deadening its actually anti vibration and if you want to deaden the outside road noise etc you need both a dynamat type product THEN a foam SOUND DEADENIG product. Surely this is adding HUGE weight ? I was going to do all inner door skins boot area and boot lid and under rear seat. When doing the doors there must be a limit on how thick it can be before the door sling won't go back on ?

Has anyone done just the dynamat style and what have your results been like ? Did you get less road noise ? Has anyone done both ? Can anyone recommend good products ?

Thanks guys !

fill the door panels with concrete, this will stop vibration.

Dynamat and the like help add a bit of weight and rigidity to the area you're fitting your speakers, which prevents vibrations. Its not really designed to 'deaden' sound in the sense of blocking sounds out though, for that you'd need some proper sound deadening foam, a bit like you find under the bonnet of most cars. It is generally heavy as it needs to be quite thick/dense to be effective, but its lighter than dynamat usually.

I put dynamat around my component mids, then lined the inside of the outer door skin (ie, the back of the panel of the door that faces outside) with some sound deadening foam I got from ebay. Its reduced road noise a bit, but I'd need a lot more throughout the car to block it entirely. I'd definitely not line a whole car with dynamat though, as like I said, it not really designed to block sound.

Either way, the weight it'd add wouldn't be anything like you're already adding with a sub/amp and (very tidy looking!) enclosure like you've bought.

Did my whole car I the end with a product called rhino, it was brilliant and worked extremely well. Carpet was fine as it was only about 2mm.

According to their website it is exactly designed to cut out road noise.
