Gary,
That does sound like a joke to me!!!!
My premium came in at £765 (This includes protected no claims allowing for 2 claims in the next 5 years!) and includes all the mods listed above. As I mentioned,I'm gonna upgrade to either Prodrive or Eibach springs in the near future and they wanted an extra £15 in order for me to do this.I guess if I'd have stuck with Directline, they woulda tried to screw me for this (Like the rest of the mods on the car )

Good luck

Nick

P.S: I have full no claims like you

Guys, you do have to be over 30 to be insured by LV.
My premium was due on the 7th July, Adrian Flux(current insurer)
gave me a renewal quote of £1008 phoned LV who quoted me
£769 on a series1 STi . Only thing is I'll have to put it of the
road until the end of July when i'm 30
But I got the protected no claims as well but it is only for 70%
your NCD
ps I've got 4 years NCD

Just to add my 2p worth,
MY98 UK Turbo no mods 33 7years protected NCB SP30&SP50 wife 31 2xSP30 based in Notts.
My renewal from Admiral £933, initial quote from LV £548 I was a little concerned at the difference but they answered all my questions and seemed to cover everything so when renewal date arrives call to take out cover and am told they will recalculate...here we go I thought..only to be surprised that the actual premium was now £521!! and the windscreen excess was reduced from £50 to £40 As told the certificate and all paperwork arrived the next day, a professional friendly and well run organisation by all accounts and I really recommend you give them a call for a quote...saved me ££££'s
a very happy melon
Edited to add that there were no tracker requirements and the policy has no "estimated mileage" as I do about 35k a year!!

Stuart,

I told them it was a full decat.

One thing to note is that my previous insurer covered my mods, replacing like with like if damaged/stolen. LV don't and will only pay out what the market value of the car is.

My insurance is due on 16th July so instead of being a lazy git and sticking with Directline I thought I'd phone Liverpool Victoria Frizell (0800 607607) tonight and see what they had to offer.Well,I was pleasantly surprised (Something not often associated with conversations with insurance companies in the past for me!!! )
They've actually reduced my annual premium by £60 per year, not a lot I hear you say,but this includes protected no claims (Which allows for 2 claims in five years),something Directline wanted around £100 extra to do.
I've made them aware of the mods to my car and they're fine with them.In fact, the prodrive spoiler had to be put on the computer as a 'bodykit' so this allows me to add any extras as and when .Here's the mods they've covered:
Decat exhaust
Prodrive headlamps
18in OZ Super L's
Soon to be fitted Prodrive spoiler
Panel filter

Not sure if you have to be over 30 to be insured with em (I'm 30 and my other half is too ) but you could do a lot worse than give em a call.
Car for info is a MY01 WRX and something of useful info to those thinking of upgrading to Prodrive/Eibach springs - They want an extra £15 when I make the upgrade.Bargain if you ask me!

Think I've covered everything there!

Nick

Insurers do up the premium for the MY01 as it's group 17 standard and most load it to group 19 (I know Directline do that!)
Insurance for older shape scoobs is much cheaper when I was looking to buy!
Be interested to hear what sorta quote they could do for you!

Cheers

Over 30?? I'm My MY95 is covered with LV.I'm 28 and my other half is 27.Can't fault them on mods or price though.
I have the following mods

PIAA's
MY01 17" wheels
MY98 interior
MY00 spoiler
Magnex B/B
4 pots

Premium is £ 630 fully comp with protected no claims.
And can't fault the service either. If you ring them one day the paper work normally turns up the following day.

Guess Liverpool Victoria's sales girl was mid-month when I called for a quote.

£1050.19... 1996 WRX, 37, full NCB, protected, clean licence, living in Worcester. It is actually £370 more than I'm paying with Tescos.

Not a good quote.

It goes from bad to mad!

Know what you mean Barking, my quote from LV was well high too. Well just got off the phone to barclays who after going through the question and answer session tell me they cant cover a brand new WRX!!! This is the same barclays who insured my STI V2 up until last august!

the search continues.....

Nope, You don't have to be 30. I was 28 when i took cover out, now 29.
Have Ramair filter,(40 quid extra - a bit of a rob)
scoobysport discs and pads, and braided hoses (No extra- same size)eibach springs(dunno about extra- in original quote)
ps, if you are a member of a union that they are affiliated to, you get it cheaper still. see their website for union partnerships.
has paid for my membership to Amicus four times over,
ps its about 950 quid with all mods in,

Question

Anyone had a decent Renewal from them?

Seems they give a good quote to get new business, has anyone on here been with them for a few years?

Just renewed with LV.

Like most of us the cynical in me thought that the excellent quote for last year was due to some jiggery-pokery with introductory discounts etc & was dreading their renewal quote.

Boy was I surprised when the renewal was exactly the same as last year & I'v snapped their hands off again.

Today is my first day & 2nd year cover with them.

Cheers all - Happy Bunny

Jay

Been with them for a couple of years now and the renewal was cheaper than the year before. The old man has his scoob with them as well for just £450 but he is an old fart.
Can't fault the service either, you ring them one day and the docs are with you the next.Plus no probs over security or the mods I've done.I think your job and union membership gets you some good discounts though.

Just signed up with LV myself

MY96 Wagon, 31 years, car on street, CAT 1 alarm, big brakes, Magnex exhaust, Dawes, fancy alloys, interior changes and 3 drivers.

£670 with protected NCD, , renewal from present insurer was £980 without the dawes and only myself to drive

They don't really seem to care that much about the other drivers or the mods only £25 loading for the dawes and exhaust, and the same price with 1 or 3 drivers.

Have you guys actually told LV that you have a De-cat exhaust system fitted to your UK cars or did you just say a Stainless Steel exhaust ??.

Looks like there is plenty room for future upgrades FOC, my policy just says engine mods, suspension mods, exhaust mods etc
