Ok folks, here's my situation.

Originally had STi Type RA, insured through my wife with me as named driver (we both use the car).
Cost £1400 with Bell Direct, due for renewal in November.
This quote was based on her full no claims (protected) and me with 2 claims, 1 fault, 1 no fault.
Since then I have written off the Scoob (my fault), 9 days after the purchase. Bought another, STi3 this time which was added to the policy with no extra charge. Basically they wouldn't refund any of the policy money but would honour it if we bought the same car again.
I now have to reinsure the Scoob and as you can imagine I am not looking forward to the quotes.
I've also have 8 points on my license for speeding that I didn't have before
I would also like to start modding the car (I know my head is in the clouds, but if you don't ask you don't get)

Is anyone else in a similar screwed up situation and managed to get a decent quote?

If your over 30 Liverpool Victoria may be ok (0800864865)- they dont sting at all for mods and accidents dont tend to be too much of a problem - however with 8 points you may have a problem

I have had 3 bans in my time, having had 57 points in the last 7 years.......... - I have learned in the last few years not to drive fast at nighttime as this is when you are at high risk, or if you have a red car you are also at hige risk at daytime, partly because the police play the 'snooker' game and also becuase the colour is highly visible (I was shown this is the police car twice)- If I were you I'd fit laser jammers to the front and rear of your car and buy a Morpheus Goedesy - just like I've done...

With the bans I insured with A plan 08450 711234.....

Liverpool Victoria were my best option, by about £200! I'm 29, with a 2002-spec Legacy 2.5GX estate (lpg), 2 accidents (1 fault, 1 non) and 8 points. Direct Line wanted £980, LV quoted (and have honoured) £740

Not a great quote, but far better than anyone else
