Just swapped by MY96 Impreza WRX for a Legacy B4 RSK. Privilege wanted £834 + Tracker, L&V quoted £685 no Tracker. (40 year old, kept on driveway, protected NCB) - who cares about the £350 excess - the knack is not to have an accident ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Just taken out ins. with LV today- '98 UK Turbo with loads of mods - £688 protected NCB with a £250 xs for theft and accident, the mods are actually insured ( will replace like for like) and they will cover me for track days at no extra cost!

- wifey covered too......
My last insurer refused me cover this year- say they can't offer competitive quotes for this type of car..?!

Edited again to say my car has morettes, 17" Prodrives, and highline rear spoiler. As these were dealer fitted when the car was new LV don't class them as mods! TOP!!!!![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Well Liverpool Victoria let me down today ![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
MY01 Saloon, PPP and Morettes, over 40, 5yrs NCD, no points, off-road parking, protected NCD - £1,110.77![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Tesco renewal is £871.50 (albeit without protected NCD)![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
LV also had a £350 excess for both accident and theft (Tesco is £250 theft).
Spent most of today ringing around for other quotes. Many won't touch PPP (e.g. Prudential, Axa)![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)

The best thing I found about LVG was when I upped the excess the premium came down almost the same. i.e. £595 with £250 excess reduced to £480 with £400 excess.
Save £115 if I don't have an accident and will really have only cost £35 if I do.
Considering I've been driving for 15 years with no accidents ever, I took the chance with the higher excess (he says touching wood).
J
P.S.
Oh yes, no tracker needed and modifications hardly up the premium does also help a bit.

They initially offered me the standard £250 XS, but if I upped it to £350, the premium dropped £120 - as the guy said - even if I make a claim - I still save money. I agree with the comment above about not making a claim for under £500 - remember if you have had a claim in the previous 12 months, and you are moving to a new insurer (which I seem to do every year), most wont allow protected no claims (found that out last year, even though the bump was a non-fault vandalism on a company car)
