You can be put down as a named driver with liverpool vic but if the car is going to be used by you mainly then its illegal to say that its not for your use (ie your car, mum as main driver), otherwise you shouldnt have any problems ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Andrewh, if you are the main driver, and the insurance coy suspect it, and you are declared as occasional use, your insurance company will void the policy.(when you claim!!
)
I work for Zurich who own eaglestar, believe me, don't do it.

logix651 you were very lucky to get insured with LV.
they told us they you have to 30 to be insured with them.
myself and partner are both going to be 30 in a couple of months, the woman on the phone tried to get past the system to insure us but it wouldn't let her?????
strange? maybe it's the area where you live that has something to do with it??
insurance companies are a law to themselves.

I'm 31 and LV were happy to insure me on a P1 and Skyline, but wouldn't allow anyone under 30 to drive (that won't please the other half !!!) ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
So I doubt you'll be able to insure under your mum's name, even if you did want to break the rules (suits me if it keeps the premiums down - sorry !!).

i'm 26 and own a MY00 and they were game to give me a quote..........until they asked my best price so far......when i told them £630 with 6 years PNCB they ended the quote process in quite a hurried and arrogant way i thought....

Do LVG pay out?
I ran a few test 'quick quotes' to see how much for other Subarus and was astonished at the results, so I tried to get a big quote
but it doesn't happen. This has got me a bit worried. How do they make their money?
I have a slightly modded MY99 Turbo - bottom end of quick quote was £540. I went for higher excess (£400) and lowered this to £480.
(examples - bottom end of the quote range with £100 vol excess and protected NCB)
Import STi (280bhp) - £720
RB5 - £595
new WRX - £430!!!
new STi UK - £730
Ferrari 328 - £440 (omg)
Ferrari 355 - £700
Aston Martin Vanquish - £730
Porsche 911 - £540
Lambo Countach Qv - £440 (what the!!!)
Lambo Diablo - £700
Escort Cossie - £450 (now I've seen it all)

They told me they would probably not be able to beat my renewal premium even before they took any details from me at all. In the end they did not even quote! 7 years NCD, no points, rural area standard WRX and I'm 28, which I consider to be an old git!

Same prob here kart_man, I'm 30 8yrs NCB and L&V have quoted me half of what anyone else was even getting close to, 600squid comp, with diff alloys, but they wont cover my other half who's 28, 5yrs NCB neither of any points, I only want her covered on it just ion case of emergencys etc as she has her own car.
Do I risk it and not have her put on the ins or do I let her use it covered for only TPFT on her ins.....
