Question

Hope someone can help me out here:

I've just renewed my insurance with Eagle Start Direct (795) ok not the cheapest - but did only have a 100 pound xs. For my MY99 with PPP BB and TSL GrpN+ brakes (at no xtra cost!)

When I asked how much it would be for a MY02 WRX they tell me it would be 130 pounds cheaper !!!

Why would this be ?

Help - I fear I may need to take them up on this !

T.

Exclamation

Its a mistake !!

New car = no age of car discount
Bug-eye Scoob = Group 19 (2 groups higher than 'Classic').

Check with them - its amazing how often insurers seem to quote
on a 2.0 GX AWD by mistake..

Unless they have heavily loaded your premium due to the minor mods you have on the MY99, I would expect an increase in premium of at least £100.

Hope this helps..

It may be because they know that the new ones are slower with improved handling (allegedly) therefore they should fall off the road less!

Red face

No chance.....I work for Zurich (Eagle Star) and I get 40% discount. The requested premium for my MY01 was £1400. I didn't bother asking for the STI, as that's group 20!! Unless of course you are 60 years old and only do 1000 miles per year

Edited to say - Full NCB over 30, married etc etc

They won't quote over grp 18, as a staff case I asked them to do me a special.
