im 23 2years noclaims, 2 small accidents, MY95 WRX and it took ages to find someone who'd insure me. id had quotes from tesco and direct line for about £1700 but when it came to paying for it they both changed thier minds. this was at the beginning of september just as they changed their policy on tracker retrieve.
in the end i paid £2200 with direct line had to fit tracker monitor.
<edited to say> oh and the excess is huge
voluntary £250 + compulsary £250 + under25 £200 = £700
think thats about right

I've been told by someone at Direct Line that their underwriter (UK Insurance?) won't accept anyone under 25 on anything "high-powered"
Is this the case? Certainly I get rejected (age 22) on any high powered car (Impreza, M3, etc) at Direct Line, Egg and the other clones. It used be OK in the past.. Tescos is still offering quotes OK - I thought they were the same underwriters..? :S

Im sorry to say they have just changed thier policy. They now no longer offer new policies to under 25 yr olds. They did however offer me a renewal as an existing customer, BUT it went to 2k, so in other words , go else where please. Im 21 by the way.

just emailed direct line and they got back to me that if you have saved an insurance quote, you should be fine.
Emailed Tesco as well and they said they are not changing their age limit! Thank God

I'm 22 and I got my scoob insured, fully comp for £1300 with direct line.
Not bad by all standards really, they just have loads of pre-reqs that you have to meet before they will touch it i.e. Cat1 alarm and imob + tracker
