Just changed policy to Privilege
#1
For Your Information
I have a 98 Impreza Sport with air vents on bonnet, I am single, 24, SP30 (40mph in a 30mph), 7 years NCD, licence for +7 years and will be parked in garage.
Just started new policy with Privilege for £735 including protected no claims discount
Liverpool Victoria (supposed to be good) only quoted £883
AXA Direct wasn't too bad at £791 but didn't protect my No Claims Discount
Adrian Flux £752 (if I fit a new Thatcham alarm - yes right, like I am made of money!)
Chris Knott said minimum £850 because of quantity of Subaru policies taken out due to this message board - currently reviewing procedure on taking out anymore Subaru policies! (Not sure about risk of Subaru's)Call back in February - not much good when policy needed for December!!!!!
Greenlight - no go there either
At this stage got bored of questions as nobody seemed to get close.
Privilege seemed helpful and I am happy with the quote.
Please let me know your thoughts, have you experienced similar quotes which contradict previous threads on this message board? Perhaps the threads are out of date or are for OAP's? No offence!
Thanks for reading!

I take back every good word I said about Privilege as my renewal arrived with no mention of bonnet vents and requesting me to send a Thatcham certificate, which I don't have.
I have complained to customer services and requested a refund - what a waste of fuc***g time! They didn't even ask about my alarm when taking my money!
A word of warning!
Now I will probably stick with AXA unless anyone can recommend anything else? Thanks

Strange - cos I'm with Privilege for my modified MY97 Sport.
They never asked for Cat 1 certificate (don't have - lost by dealer).
1150 (but with a 1250 excess <- it's not like I could afford a claim anyway...)
Me 25 (24 at policy start), 3 years NCB, 7+ years license (no claims), 3 points TS10
GF 22 (21 at policy start) no points, no claims
MY97 Sport, ScoobySport Back box, Ram-air filter, turbo seats, turbo suspension, STi4 Spoiler, 16' Speedline wheels, Cat 1 alarm
PS it's up for sale next March if anyone wants it (nothing liek a good thread hijack )

You could try Hastings Direct.
Me 36, 9+ yrs NCB, garage + Cat 1, MY99 Sport (no mods).
Paying £431 fully comp with protected NCB.
The other quotes I got ranged from £560 - £950, so this was definately the best for me.

After the fiasco with Privelege did some more shopping around and the quotes got worse, some not even interested.
Went on Axa website and after a bit of fiddling around with excess, mileage etc the quote came out at £705 (initial renewal £790).
I then decided to phone and ask for a quote including similar changes to mileage, excess and told them I had been shopping around and the quote was suddenly £630!!!!! (unprotected no claims) and I am happy to say that the renewal with protected no claims is £690, which is cheaper than last year which didn't protect my discount.
This is all a bit strange (as now also have an SP30 & NCD protection)and insurance is £40 cheaper, so I am now waiting for the document confirmation etc.
Was allowed air vents as cosmetic and under £2500 modification, not yet sure if I can fit an exhaust but am skint anyway!!!!
Very pleased Axa customer
