MODS

Do you all tell your insurance companies the mods you carry out to your scoobs , i mean the little ones , more cosmetic than performance wise ,, like alloy wheels , color coding on mirrors side skirts etc,, ?

...er...especially alloy wheels!! They added loads to our insurance policy. I've told them about everything - it was only the exhaust and alloy's that made a difference, leather interior, brakes, colour coding etc. made no difference at all - although I nagged them to make a note
Just think about it - your cars worth anything from £7000 to £35000 - what's a few hundred quid on the policy? They will try anything not ot pay out, and most are reasonable

always tell them. My insurance went up shed loads because of running non standard wheels, didnt go up a penny for running AP brakes or LedaB. Insurance companies must be told of mods, you cant afford not to tell them.

StudentScooby,
It does not matter if your car is third party or full comp. If you modify your car without telling you insurance company they can (if they want to) void your insurance policy.
Example
Say you hit a bus with 25 people on board. Some were seriously injured, some with whiplash, some with broken bones etc. your insurance company might void your insurance policy because you neglected to tell them you just increased you engine power or added suspension modifications etc.
Whilst I understand that the modifications might not have caused the crash, your insurance company will try and worm their way out of it, and with any excuse like modifications, they will jump at the chance of landing you in it.
I always tell my insurance company everything, right down to replacement stereos. Yes it’s petty but I prefer to cover me **** given that anyone can sue me if they want to.
