Does anyone have any phone numbers/ guess quotes for a 17yr old with pass plus to be insured on a Ford Ka?? - Its really doing my head in as I have just found out that I cant get insured on any of my parents cars - hence the Ford Ka! Have to be a named driver as my parents are use thier no claims on a TVR Cerbera and Shogun and I want to build up my no claims bonus!

Thanks in advance
Ben CA

Your best bet is to grab a mag like maxpower/fastcar and try those insurance. i think you will be looking at:

Tesco
Adrian flux.

Tesco has an online quote so that will get you a price straight away and adrian flux email you back with a quote. Try these 2 definitely

Swinton do a good young driver policy with a company called provident, the scheme is called headstart and they give a huge discount if you have completed the pass plus course.

Good luck

I'm with Norwich Union, got a 1.4 Clio, paying £1250 p.a.

Doing Pass Plus at the moment, gave them a ring and got 48% off

Had a similar problem with my parents cars, STi IV and Ford Galaxy don't really come too high on the list of cars for a 17 year old

Cheers

I know it's going back some, but I got my 1.4 Astra insured with Firebond for £800, it was a few years ago, but they were very good at the time.

Since then, I have been with Churchill & Tesco

I can't believe the quotes you've had, nightmare!

Adrian flux wont touch anyone under 19?

Who are firebond? never heard of them?

Best quote under my name remains tesco online with £2003
Best quote under dads name is £1170 with CIS

If I cant get a quote below £1700 I will have to drive under dads name and forever suffer this ridiculous insurance!!!!!!! ARGH
