Whats the biggest insurance claim??

It depends what sort of figure you're talking about...if its own damage then I guess it depends on the type of vehicle...and also generally I believe a car would become uneconomical to repair if the estimate for replacement parts and labour exceeds 60% of the value of the car.
If it the total claim...then I am aware of claims presently outstanding with other brokers in excess of 1/2 million....tho this is obviously where serious injury and/or death is involved....basically how long is a piece of string...
If you owned a Landrover and asked the same question then I would imagine that one of the largest claims for that brand would relate to Selby....and certain railway track just off the M62 and Fortis insurance...

Anybody has had on there scoobies, EXCLUDING write offs!
The rebuilding of the rear corner of my car (MY01 WRX) after some ******* hit me on the motorway in Austria while I was on a snowboarding holiday.
Just had a copy of the report and invoice for the claim against the third parties insurer. A wisker short of 12,000k Euro, approx 8k pounds.
That broke down as roughly (all in Euro):
9k - repairs.
1k - hire car for 6/7 weeks.
1k - depreciation factor (in my pocket).
400 Euro policy excess.
600 Euro independant structural and safety engineers report.
Oh and I forgot the 36 Euro for the report that the kind Ausrtian traffic policemen wrote explaining that it was entirely the other person fault.
Luckily no major chassis damage as the impact was only on the rear corner.
