Just to say thanks to Tom for yet another outstanding result in getting cover for my car.
It is the second year that I have increased the mods on my already modified Scoob at renewal time and this year Tom has pulled off an outstanding result.
The reason this is so significant is that the car, Sti V, is now insured to include £20k worth of mods overall - from the frivolous and cosmetic, to the performance endearing. It is also now insured for a conservative 480bhp.
And the renewal increase this year (from a declared £8k worth of mods and 330bhp last year) was less than 10% of the overall modest premium.
I am not quoting the specific premium here as it would be inapporpriate as premiums can vary by so many factors.
What I will underline in my own experience is that a good personal broker is worth his weight in gold (and Tom is not shy on the pies
) My expectation that with my new engine and mods - the premium would have at least doubled. Clearly this does not have to be the case ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Ron,
I'm sorry it took us an hour to get back to you...and equally sorry that we missed out on the business.
Unfortunately we can't always be in a position to give immediate quotes...and where this is the case we always try to get back to people as soon as is physically possible.
Maybe we can have another go for you next year???
Tom

Yep, thanks to Tom, who called me and we had a good ol chat. Very helpful, even if his crappy PC can't read Word file from a far superior Macintosh :-)
(sorry Tom, couldn't help but slip that one in)
Unfortuantely, my circumstances meant Tom couldn't get me a good price.

rum - i was supprised that now being 25 with 6yrs NCB and no accidents or convictions i am still getting no major discount and you struggled to get insurance for me on the sti8 when i rang last week(£2200 is obscene - although not your fault obviously) Best so far is greenlight at £1680 protected NCD and £90 for ppp if i get it - this seems to be the best deal - any thoughts?

Deerhunter....yea I know...I'd truly love to be able to get the best rates all of the time....and if I did, I guess I'd be typing this from the beach...on my private island somewhere hot :-) ... but alas we can't always get the best rates...its just the way the market is.
With regard to age etc...clean records and max NCD are great, however in most cases insurers will restrict driving on group 20 vehicles to over 30's...over 25's has a more limited number of insurers willing to entertain the risk...and alas, under 25's the market is even more restricted.
Whilst we always to try to get the best price...we do not always get it right....but I can assure you that I am always negociating with underwriters to obtain more discounts.
All the best
Tom

Tom,
When I phoned your company, I was told you do not cover imports. Please can you confirm this, as this topic suggests you do insure them.If you do cover them,I will be contacting you shortly regarding a version 5 or possibly 6.
Regards
Dean

Dean,
Call on the Schofields number above and ask for me....if you have problems being put through or I'm out, ask for John...alternatively.....drop me a mail at tom@subaru-insured.co.uk with your contact tel no and I'll give you a shout back. If all that fails log onto http://www.subaru-insured.co.uk....request a quote and you should automatically get sent a quote form....return it to my above email address with a short comment to remind me who you are etc...![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Basically now so long as the car is Trackered and Garaged and you're squeeky clean (no claims/conv's) then we are able to selectively have a look for you...
We'll see what we can do for you![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Alas we have one market for the grey imports (as most people have already probably found these vehicles are often not covered by the standard insurance market)....and alas they require the vehicle to be garaged and trackered...sorry we couldn't assist
