Why do insurance companies ask if you have had any convictions in the last five years?
Points only last for three, than you have served your time. Surely this is unjust.

Insurance companies have been asking for convictions going back years, don't worry too much as it won't affect your premium if they are over 3 years old anyway (most insurance companies).

Oh yes it does affect your premium! Try the tesco website where you can experiment and it recalculates the premium. My 3pts SP30 from nov 1998 cost me an extra £40 or so. Ba$tards. I was tempted to just get a replacement licence and not declare them but decided to play safe in the end.
