Got my renewal through this week so am thinking of shopping around to see if I can get a better quote. So far I have been told I need a tracker on the car or they are not interested. Does anyone know which companies will insure imports without tracker ?

Car has cat1 alarm fitted
I have full no claims and live in a good postcode, age 35, clean licence.

Try Admiral, can't get import insurance quote on web site but give them a call, I'm 36 got a quote of £840 for a 98 Sti TypeR, parked on drive and only need immobaliser (no extra discount for Tracking device)

got insured on an sti7typeuk import with direct line with no tracker or cat 1 proof!??!
even though i have both!
they said i didn't need them,on this model!
i think i do!

Try elephant.co.uk, they quoted me a cheaper price on a WRX import that equivilant UK car. They also don't discount on security, so don't care if you haven't got a tracker, alarm or even an immobilier.
