Insurance Subaru Impreza insurance can be expensive, as with any performance car insurance. But the cheapest car insurance isn't always the best. Share your quotes, and experiences.

Question

Just thought I'd share my afernoon's experience with you. Insurance time again, so it was a quick trawl through scoobynet for the popular insurer/broker names, then off to the phone.

I'm currently with Greenlight and the renewal is £995, so LV at £823 almost had me first call. Very helpful and attentive, too.

Tesco were next. Very hard work going through details. Operator wouldn't believe a DV doesn't boost performance as he "used to have an RS turbo"! Had to go and check with a colleague! Quote not competitive after all that.

Then on to Churchills. Asked me lots of things twice, then refused to qoute because "your wheels are larger than the standard fitment"!

NU next - really helpful, friendly and efficient. Quoted £831 until I told them about the LV quote. Imagine my surprise when she offers me £738 with decent excess, etc and they'll even send me a £20 shopping voucher!!! I really can't imagine Greenlight being able to match that.

As a postscript, I hadn't heard of Schofields before I read about them on here. Got quite excited when I saw their website, specialist insurers and all that. Lo and behold, I phone them, they promise to call back and then just don't; as at least a couple of others on this board have found

Still, £250+ of the premium isn't too bad for an afternoon's earache!!

FWIW....2 call backs made....engaged both times....alas we can't keep trying to call people back all the time....

We appear to get calls and then say we'll call back....2 mins later you ring back as promised and the customer is on the phone to another company...leave it 30 mins.....still engaged...

....any suggestions????

Unhappy

Hi Rum*/Tom.

Don't want to start swinging handbags, but that simply is not true. At 16:21 yesterday someone there told me they'd get back to me "in about 15-20 mins" and I put the phone down. My wife arrived home minutes afterwards, wanting to use the phone. I wouldn't let her because I was waiting for a callback. At 16:42 she asked if she could make a call and I told her to wait as it was just about time for a call. It never came and the phone was not used again until after 5pm.

I will try and get a quote from you anyhow, I was just unimpressed not to be called and your post just rubs salt in. Still, no biggie.
