Question

A friend of mine is looking to get a MY00 UK Scoob turbo, he is 31 years old. Totally clean licence and full NCB but is getting quotes around £1000 . Has tried the usual suspects LV, NU direct, Adrian Flux, surely it must be possible for him to get insured cheaper than this.
He currently drives an FTO and pays around £500, wouldn't have thought a Scoob would be much more.
Does this seem about right to everyone or can you recommend any other places to try.

Hi LB4,

Has your mate tried Greenlight yet. I got a quote from them a week ago for a brand new 03/WRX STI for £1079, I'm just about to turn 30 and I had an accident just over 3years ago (Wrote of Company car). Plus it will only cost me £80 to PPP.

Here's the number

Greenlight 01277 263030

Thanks for that Chris, he hasn't tried Greenlight so i'll pass that on to him. Going by your details they should beat the other quotes he's been getting.
They seem to be local to us as well, same STD code as mine.

presumably your mate lives in an expensive post code area (like me unfortunately). Has he tried going for a higher excess? I just got a quote from LV. Originally just over £1000, but by increasing my voluntary excess by £150 the quote reduced by £200. Worth giving it a go.
Having said that, I think an Impreza is going to cost quite a bit more than an FTO.
