OK. This is getting really annoying.
MY 01 WRX standard
Norwich union Direct wont insure me because I am not the registered owner and keeper of the car
Hill House Hammond said the same
Elephant would insure me inspite of not being register owner but wont because there is only 9 months left on the lease
Liv Vic wont do 'cos I am 29
Which leaves me with the renewal at Tesco who want a virtually identical to last year premium of £1100 (inc 4ys ncd protection)inspite of no accidents or claims, 4yrs ncd and clean license
Looking at the other quotes on Scoobynet this seemed expensive
Surely I'm not the only person to have their car on Personal Contract Hire and not have the insurance renewal date in synch with the lease period. AAARRRGGG !!!!

Add Axa to the list of people who wont cover unless there is more than 12 months left on the lease.
But they have just told me on the phone (after first telling me they wont cover me) to go back to the web site and tick the box that says I am the registered owner and keeper of the vehicle - so lie then, basically - and send an email to them once I have taken out the policy (once they have my money, in other words) to tell them that it is actually a contract car.
Mmmm, thats reassuring !!!

I may seem sad and lonely replying to my own thread but....
I have just quoted on AXA website (as the owner of the vehicle)
premium including ncd protection and legal expenses was £645. with £225 excess.
Compare that with Tesco renewal of £1100 for same cover (excluding track day cover)
WOW!! that is impressive.

JUST CAUSE YOU HAVE A CONTRACT PLAN YOU ARE STILL THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE.IF THIS WASNT THE CASE EVERY PERSON WITH A CAR ON H.P WOULDNT HAVE INSURANCE. ANYWAY AT THE END OF YOUR CONTRACT YOU HAVE A OPTION TO BUY THE CAR SO I DONT SEE WHERE THE PROBLEM IS.
IVE ALSO POSTED THIS ON MY THREAD FOR YOU AND OTHERS LIKE YOU
