Give Greenlight a ring and declare everything. They are a mod friendly company with very competative rates

Just been quoted by Liverpool & Victoria. Very impressed. I declared all my mods inc Dawes, Full Stainless Exhaust, dump valve etc. Good price and only £250 excess.

If you have ANYTHING you don't declare and need to claim and the Insurance company find out then they will void your claim.

It's up to you what you declare - nothing anyone says will help - if I say "Dont bother declaring X" and you have a claim rejected, you ain't going to get anything out of me........

Declare the lot - I even put on my form that I changed my tyres from RE010's to F1's in the same size !

I was told by my last insurance co that i didnt need to inform them of any changes in consumables (tyres, air filters, spark plugs etc) but any modifications to wheels/brakes/performance/bodywork would need to be declared.

Tell them about the dawes mate. ask "how much would it be if i stuck a dawes device on" and then decide if the extra money is worth it.

I would tell them if I were you. 2 scenarios spring to mind - you are involved in an accident, the car gets impounded for some reason, no chance to take the Dawes off. Or, car gets stolen, written off, again no chance to remove.
Oh and a third one - an insurance investigator reads what you have written on here and clicks on your profile. Not difficult.
As you say, that is a seriously good quote you have so far. Bite the bullet and tell them everything, if only for peace of mind.
