Just spoken to Tesco about insuring an 03 WRX with PPP. Don't think the guy knew what it was but I pressed on explaining the mods it includes. Nearly had a fit when he came back and told me it would have an £800 excess and £1850 premium! Bearing in mind I have a quote from them for non-PPP a around £1300 and £200 excess! Was this guy just a muppet? Also, both of these include a tracker (which Tesco insist on) 27yr, 3yr NCD, 3points.
AFAIK, PPP is ECU remap + exhaust upgrade. 225 > 265BHP....Any insurers actually know what PPP means?

Norwich Union Direct have quoted me £762 for WRX 03 Wagon (was an existing customer and pushed v hard for reduction) and then accepted PPP at no extra cost. Says "engine management" on certificate! They also throw in breakdwon assistance for free which of course don't need with Scooby Assist.

Regardless of what it says on the certificate 'engine management' it is a modification.
My company asked for the full details of the mod. So I sent the PDF file that you can download of the Subaru website. This details the changes exactly and even the Subaru Part number. No change for me
