Unhappy

I'm 30 with a MY98 WRX (Japanese import) which I've owned for 3 and a half years, a clean license which I've held for 10 years, have never claimed, 6 years NCB and my renewal has just gone up from about £1100 to over £1350! FFS, WTF etc etc.
Can anyone suggest a company that will probably give me a better quote than that? Thanks for any help.

Greenlight told me they have had a bad year on the Impreza turbo so are either quoting high or not at all.

However, I have a Sport and they beat my Norwich Union Direct renewal by £200!! (£780 --> £580 fully comp inc mods )

It seems as if scoobies are almost as bad as 'cossies' were in the 90's ! And we all know why...I HATE thieving basts !!!

However, I've just bought a MY96 UK Turbo for the missus, most were quoting into the £700's, but Churchill just quoted £553.

Might be worth giving them a call, but I wouldn't bother with impressions of the dog from the adverts - they don't find it funny !

Cheers

Matt

LOL @ Dog impressions

Churchills were going to quote me with my Afterburner exhaust as it's a *cosmetic* mod but the refused to give me a price when I mentioned my Subaru WRX 17" wheels

Just got my renewal from Privilege.
36 yr old, MY99 UK Turbo, stated mods: brakes, suspension and backbox, 2 claims in last 3 years ( no claim last year ) and its gone down by £60!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
£453 + protected no claims and legal aid = £540.

Question

Just had a quote from Kwik Fit of £390 for my MY00. Anyone out there used em before?, seems a bit cheap compared to my other quotes of >£580.

Cheers,

Mark...

LOL @ Kwik Fit.

I thought I'd stumbled across a good deal with them. Eventually turns out they were quoting me against a 1.8 GL Impreza, not MY00 Turbo. Make sure they've got your car right........

Try A Plan insurance on (0845) 071 1234 they have given me a quoted of aprox (try to work it down for me!) £1000 thats for a 98 jap import WRX, no tracker parnter driving as well, 5 years NC, and one year driving that car (thinks he can get it down may be further as driven it for that year)

so you should have no hassel.

Thumbs up

Thanks for all the info guys.
Have a few more places to ring (like A Plan), but have had a quote of about £960 from Liverpool Victoria which is much more like what I expected! Thanks again all.
