Just spoken with L V insurance, 1994 L reg uk turbo with mods, ie lowered, bigger exhaust, non std alloys £408.31 fully comp.
Im paying £370 F/C on my Sport, and my insurance won't even touch a turbo that's been modded.

I don't know what it is with LivVic. They're either taking a refreshingly different view of Impreza's to other companies or they're being completely irresponsible and heading for problems. Their quote for my car (MY03 PPP) was £500 less than my current insurer (Privelege). They said they're not bothered about mods providing I have a receipt, etc for them in the event of a claim. The didn't ask asbout security, tracker, garage, miles.

LV have said that they have done away with their small army of underwriters checking every small modification etc... because they cost more money than they were paying out in claims made!

Makes sense to me. Shame others insurers don't see it that way. They do limit their risks though by only insuring over 30's on Scooby's.

They were high for me - I think they are a bit postcode sensitive.

We just changed to LV £200 less than present (Churchill) and they don't care about mods, miles, garage, tracker etc etc

They also read this forum and told me to check it out....

So yes, I think they are taking a new view, they are certainly getting a lot of business and are pleased by it.

Quote me happy?

Fair play to them I say

LV WON'T insure anyone under 30 in an MY01; ie WRX badged UK car. Found this out at the weekend. They will insure the UK Turbo though for some bizzare reason...

Also just noticed the options for cars when you put in Impreza on a quick quote.

22B-STI [2212cc] 4 door, Petrol, Manual, Produced 1998-2000

Almost right. DO they know what they are insuring?

I have a policy with LV insuring my MY99 with remap and decat and they know exactly what mods have been done.

Their web site quick quote system says no mods, if you speak to them, the only mod that they are concerned about is an "engine swap".

OK. Sweet. Will try phoning them tonight.

Do they accept overseas no claims? Privelege are the only ones I've found so far who do. Any one know of anyone else?

I only have 1 years no claims in the UK but 13 years from NZ. And we drive on the same side of the road.
