just curious what Direct Line think about mods before I start adding bigger exhausts, air filters etc...

Was briefly with DL with my old MY99 and then when replaced with current MY01. They did allow mods but liked putting up the premium accordingly. Also, I found that even though I'd faxed them full details of my mods when it came to renewal time they had no record whatsoever - no doubt would have screwed up any claim in that period

Basically ditched them and am currently with Tesco, even with PPP, full decat etc.

I was with direct line for a number of years up until recently. Though I haven't got a scooby, a mate at work has and I watch this forum for him. My Audi was chipped, and Direct Line were fine about it - just wanted to know how much more power etc and bump premium up.

Soon as I got some 18s, they stuck it up £170, excess up £150 to £650 and they'd changed my policy from 21-30% extra power from chip to +10%. Direct Line "That's our mistake but the insurance will go up. You owe us an extra £140 please." For standard car - £508 with wife. With mods £1132. And £650 excess.

That was on Saturday - by Monday I was with Greenlight - £800 with mods.Try em? - 01277 263030 - nothing to lose.
