To be honest with you, they are probably laughing all the way to their bank, all that tpft covers is exactly that, theft, and fire (and a third party accident).
The chances are (and this is the rip off part) is that you would crash the car and then they wont have to pay out......

i don't mind paying the money and it was well over 3k comp. i've got a good job (car alarm fitter and trackers) and can afford to pay it. just gotta be carful not to smash it up.

I paid only a bit more than that for fully comp at 20 with 1yr no claims, on a MY00 (i.e. was worth 12k) modded!!!! I also had a FAULT claim. This was with TESCO.
