Just asked them how a non-standard exhaust system and air filter on my MY99 UK Turbo will affect my premium and they quoted an extra £15 a month i.e. £180 a year - doesn't this seem a bit steep?
Anyone else insured with them paying similar amounts?

Just an update in case anyone's interested. Phoned Norwich Union again and was given exactly the same price again. The bloke I spoke to insisted that it was their policy to add 10% for any mod to the exhaust system and the same for any change to the air filter (even just a replacement element). Therefore my premium would go up by 20%.
Looks like it's best to steer clear of NU Direct if you're planning on making any mods - think I'll be joining the Liverpool Victoria clan when it comes to renewal time!

Ah, so I'm not alone then!
Just got off the phone with Directline about putting an Afterburner BB on my STI8...and they have to treat it as a Performance exhaust meaning 1%-10% increase in bhp!
Result...£194 for rest of year please sir.
As the exhaust already costs £310, its out of the question.
I'm gonna either spend the money on gauges, or save up for PPP next year now. Or do nothing and keep enjoying the car as it is.
Didn't get round to asking what 20% increase in bhp will do to premium though.

Yep NUDirect are a bunch of t0$$ers - I had to stup up 80 quid for the year for a WRSport BB, and then they wanted another 40 quid for STi7 wheels for 6 months.
Not for me next year.
