Default I'm getting stuffed over

I've just got quotes from companies listed in the insurance section on my 97 sport worth about 1000.

And I've come to the conclusion I'm getting screwed.

Quotes came out between 620 - 800. I'm 27, 6 years ncb, no claims and no convictions.

Tesco's gave me a quote for 999 for a brand new WRX.!!!!

Simon

Opinions please peeps.

I have a St. Albans postcode, so not that bad. Tesco's came back with just under 700, so I'm a safer bet in a brand new turbo?????

The new WRX is probly safer and cheaper to fix.

Im paying £710 on my 03MY WRX PPP with L&V 30 ,9 years NCD CA28 post code.

Just a thought, but have you got more than 6 years ncb?
If you can prove that you have more than 6 years ncb L&V give a discount for up to 9 years ncd

Some insurers don't like cars over a certain age. Also, bear in mind this won't be random calculation of a premium: the insurers will have found that, statistically, they are paying out more money on that particular model of a certain age owned by a certain demographic.

Premiums aren't random numbers, despite the appearance

Cheers,
Nick.

You could try Hastings Direct. They've been the cheapest for me for the last 3 years.

Age 37, 9 years protected NCB, AL9 post-code and I'm paying £415 this year on a MY99 Sport with a £175 excess.

Most companies were quoting between £100-150 more in premium and with a £250-350 excess.
