....NOT! Just had a renewal of £3960!! I'm 29 years old with 5 years NCD, 2 SP30's no accidents in last 3 years. That was on a policy where I only do 4000 miles per year and its garaged with CAT1 and Tracker!! Whats going on!

I don't think there has been a mistake, you have just fallen foul of the renewal increase trick! Basically, insurers give you a nice low premium to attract you as "new business", and then when it comes to renewal, bang! This happened to me with elephant.co.uk last year-i was insured for 1400 on my P1 with 9 points, then on renewal, 3 points had come off, i was a year older, had 8 years NCD and hadn't had any crashes (never have done), and the renewal quote was 3500 quid. Needless to say i declined and went elsewhere where i got insured for 1100 pounds, but no doubt come renewal time, the same will happen again...Hate insurers.
