Prolly been said many times b4 but I was paying £850 with Churchill for a bog standard UK turbo, now £540 with Liverpool Victoria for the same car but now with Ecutek, full Scoobysport system and stiffer rear arb etc....
Moral - If they will take you, insure with LV and mod away as much as you want - they only care about a bigger engine......

Tell them.
You'd be so gutted if something happened to the car and your claim was refused.
(I don't think ins cos can deny third party insurance for this sort of thing, but you can expect troubles for the fully comp side of things)

Why are you buying the exhaust? Is it for power or the noise?
I got a box made up at a local exhaust place - it lets the burble out BUT it isn't performance enhancing so no need to declare (same as gettin a zorst from quickfit). If you just want noise you could go this route (cheaper too
)
I had a claim with the decat centre on too and it was fine.

Why? I'm sure when everyone goes down quickfit for an exhaust they inform their insurance... Fair enough if you have a power-enhancing one, as Tesco state mods are categorised by the % raise in BHP.

Elephant aren't happy with any mods. My fiat coupe 20VT has an aftermarket strutbrace (they were standard on post 99 cars) and Elephant wouldn't insure me. Its not as though a strutbrace adds any extra bhp, if anything it makes the car safer as it enhances the road holding when cornering !!
My advice is switch companies, there are many that don't give a monkeys about mods as long as you declare them.
