Default Protected No Claims Discount

Hi guys,

My insurance is up for renewal and my current insurer has loaded my renewal (both voluntary excess AND base premium) so I'm more than likely going to go elsewhere. I have 7 years protected no claims discount with this insurer.

Now, I had to make a claim last month. Someone took out my two nearside doors in a car park and drove off, therefore it went of my insurance. My question is, because I have protected no claims discount, do I still need to declare that I have made a claim to my new insurer?

Thanks,

Karlos

Hi,

Answered my own question by phoning Liverpool Victoria and asking them. Basically, yes you do have to declare that you had a claim. That said though, it didn't effect my new premium at all!

Why didn't I use LV before?

Karlos, near Portsmouth ... sounds familiar

What quote did you get from L&V m8y??
Did you have any trouble with mods as some people have reported with L&V??

PS. Happy birthday ... assuming you are the Karlos I think you are

Yes Mike, it's me!

£679 mate. Greenlight wanted £1100 for renewal, plus put my excess up £200. Next cheapest I could get was Asda Insurance (underwritten by NU) which, with Clare's discount (already has a policy on the escort with them, and works for them) was around the £800 mark, but included breakdown cover.

No problems with mods.

Nice quote. I can't touch L&V until the big three oh-dear-god-what-happened-to-my-life stage is reached

You persuaded Clare over the T25 yet?? Would she notice the change??

PS. Make sure Steve is doing some work, i.e. yours + his, tough being boss
