Default Postition with Insurance and the 'ring

Ok.. I know L&V cover track days but what about the ring?

Anyone asked specifically?

the ring is a (toll paying) public road - its covered by all german road laws - reporting an accident to the police if another involved etc... therefore should all be ok, unless they try to claim speed testing i suppose...

I'm not so sure... try telling that to my mate who crashed there at the weekend and might not get paid for it.......

You'll find the 'ring or Nordeschliffe (sp?) is specifically excluded from most insurers. As it is a toll road I think they have to be specific so you can't argue the toss over whether the car was damaged on the track.

Theres a great website that gives loads of info in going to the 'ring - kinda puts you off the idea considering how dangerous it sounds. Also, if you damage the 'ring you pay for it too

I am aware of the sites.

I suspect that some insurers might put "derestricted Toll roads" (not quite the case now as part of the ring have speed limits.. but I suspect that specific exclusions will be made on a lot of policies...

I was just trying to find out if anyone had asked Liverpool Victoria about it?
