Got my renewal quote its a bit steep...but I have a pending third party claim that happened ages ago and he still hasn't got in touch with my Insurance (L&V). How long do I have to wait before they close the case?

I was involved in an accident with a pedestrian whilst driving my car.
The pedestrian ran into the side of my car & was slightly injured.
However I made the police aware & my insurance LV.
I also received a call from a solicitor (no win no fee. I bet) acting on behalf of the pedestrian asking questions, I told them to speak to my insurance if they wanted any details etc.
Anyway just got my renewal, as well as the problems above I also received 3 points a few months back.
I called LV to make them aware, so would my renewal quote remain the same. Their answer was yes.
I questioned the chap at the claims dept who is dealing with my case, he hasn't heard anything yet.
Yet my renewal quote has only gone up £25 from last year. Good thing.
Only bad thing is the pedestrian can still make a claim against me, when ever he wants. As he was only 12 he has yet another 9 years to decide?
After 21 it to late. Well thats what my claims adviser told me.
At least my renewal never went up stupid.

Admiral were cheap for me with my performance back box. They allow modifications. Do an online quote and there's a whole load of mods listed on a page which you just tick off if you have them...

Ticky
Your very lucky - same happened to me - the guy was in his 30's and at the time I was too young to have protected no claims - which subsequently affected me for 3 yrs - however at the end they did back date the amount and I got a large amount back
Thought people were only 'minors' until they hit 16...... so I would have thought you were looking at 7 yrs.......... then again as it hasn't affected you your lucky......

Funny, first alternative wouldn't quote my 04 WRX, 37, 75% NCD, 0 points. Admiral and L+V best so far at ~£780, Many won't quote without a tracker, those that do are anything up to £2000!!!!
