Default Anyone got their ppp sti with..........

Admiral, elephant or Bell direct.(same company)

I'm with Bell and I asked them what premium would be required if I had ppp fitted on a 53 sti and they say that they won't cover it!!!

Now I'm 32 with no points, 9 years no claims, good postcode and my renewal was only £625 not exactly high risk in the eyes of a insurance company.

Any feedback would be appricated as I've got 10 months to run on this policy.

Bumped this as I just tried getting a quote for PPP.

Currently with Admiral, with exhaust as a declared mod. Wanted to know about wheels, Prodrive Springs and PPP. Wheels and springs about £100 premium increase but the guy on the phone knew exactly what I was on about when mentioning PPP and a definite NO as they have previously checked with the underwriters. Stupid when you think I'm half way there with the exhaust (I could decat and put new headers on with no further change to policy!).

Naffed off now -

Damn. Off to get quotes elsewhere now

Try these, pinched from another thread.

Tescos 0845 300 4400
Quinn Direct 0800 587 8000
Privilege 0845 246 0311
A-Plan Insurance 0845 071 1234
MCE 0871 222 7920
Osborne & Sons 0845 330 6001
Mike Harrington @ Bellevue Insurance 0208 366 7447
Tom @ Schofields insurance (Subaru Insured) 0113 250 0377
Tett Hamilton & Co. Ltd 01275 856618

Subaru insured are fairly good, but I've also heard good things said about A-Plan. Your better ringing I've found as online quotes being cheaper is a bit of a myth.

Just got a quote from Privilege for modding my 02 STi up to 330bhp (not decided on who is going to do it yet), they quoted me £1350 with £450 excess on acc damage, however if I took an excess of £1400, would take it down to just over £800. Just don't crash!!!!

Amazingly Norwich Union is coming up best for me now! I say amazingly as they most certainly could not quote me happy when I got the Scooby!

Again, if you are prepared to take ridiculous excess, they are incredibly cheap - although they are currently beating Admiral by £200 a year on as near like for like quote as it is!

"Mods not an issue, but obviously a loading will probably apply depending on what is done". Best quote so far from them is £486 standard, £648 with Springs, wheels & PPP. £648 is the best I could get by taking a standard excess so well pleased. Just waiting for dealer to confirm pricing and availability now

Worth the risk of a high excess (£740 voluntary, £300 compulsory) - as for once it actually makes a significant difference (about £20/year per £100 excess).

Just switched from L & V to A-Plan. 02 STI with PPP, 18s, Prodrive springs, TSL back box, defi gauges etc and they came in at a very reasonable £ 800 (excess £ 300). Paperwork was a bit of a mess but now sorted! Subaru wanted near on £ 1000 and Tesco quoted £ 1400! I'm 40 with max no claims,
good post code etc.

Let me guess, they got your name wrong, DOB, occupation, partner's occupation, number of years NCB, mileage etc...

Someone was a little careless on the keyboard when I applied for a policy there.

Unbelievable. Address typo, had me down for no mods, no security device,
wrong DOB for my wife, no mention of second car etc etc. Good quote though!

I used Subaru Insured for my 03sti+ppp, came to £822, Admiral wanted £1024 for the same cover with PPP.
You can cancel your insurance and get the remaining monies back minus admin charges, and then go with subaru insure. Then get PPP fitted.
You will need to do the math and see how much it will cost you though.

Dipster.
